Putting together our monthly vignette is one of my favorite things to do on our blog. For our Flora & Fauna theme I figured having a bunch of flower arrangements would be kind of an obvious way to go. But where's the fun in that? I'm thinking that confiscating a bunch of plastic animals from my kids and spray painting them is the way to go.
On top of my spray paint addiction (seriously, there isn't anything out there that I don't imagine in a different color), we had just visited the most amazing plant shop called Seed to Stem (more on that later this week). I came home with succulents, air plants and my new prized possession, a fabulous turtle shell.
I pulled some glazed turquoise pottery from my basement and added some gold accents (the round bud vase, the geometric glass base and the bronze owl).
Instead of flowers, I used feathers and finished it off with a deer antler and sheep horns and then scattered the white animals throughout their new environment. My kids haven't noticed that their animals are missing. I'm hoping that by disguising them in white paint, they won't steal them back.
Have you put together your own flora & fauna vignette? We'd love to share it! Send us a photo, tweet or Facebook post!
