As we wrap up our second month, we’re reflecting on how it felt to live life with as much civility as possible. With guidance from leading thinkers on modern civilized living, we threw ourselves into our first Little Yellow Couch event, the LYC High Tea, we treated ourselves to fresh flowers each week, added perfume sampling to our list of happy addictions, learned how to make the perfect pot of tea, and re-discovered the lost art of traveling with style.
We have a small number of October boxes left for sale. In it you will find three items exclusively developed for our theme: a beautiful vase by Cara Taylor, a gorgeous bottle of eau de parfum by Olivine Atelier, and a hair accessory by Ladylike Handmades to give you a simple touch of grace to incorporate into your daily wardrobe.
We hope we have inspired you to take on one (or more) small projects to help lift you above the fray of our modern, hectic lives. We’re particularly excited about our easy-to-make travel candle and the very posh travel bags you can create for your shoes, lingerie and laundry. We also loved remaking a vanity to display our new perfumes, and don’t forget about the perfume journal GIVEAWAY! One lucky reader will receive this beautiful little journal, made by Karen, to record your favorite scents you come across while shopping. Just leave a comment on our post by guest writer, Steve Johnson. Finally, if you’ve used (or re-imagined) our DIY or printables for hosting a tea party, we’d love to hear about it!
Tomorrow we announce our theme for November and introduce you to three more artists who have worked with us to create a new box, which will be for sale starting November 1st. As we all start thinking about the holiday season, keep in mind that a Little Yellow Couch Box would make for a very special gift, especially for that style maven, home decorator and passionate supporter of the arts on your list!
