Ladylike Handmades is the combined effort of the mother-daughter team Diana Foree and Kristy Behrs.  They live in southern Oregon (although in separate towns) and both have a passion for the aesthetic of the 1920s and 30s.  We were immediately pulled into their vision through Kristy’s photography, which you can also see on her website, Wreckless Creative.   The knits created by Diana, with color input from Kristy, are supremely feminine and you feel simply beautiful when wearing them.

For this month’s theme, “Let’s Be Civilized,” Diana has created a hair accessory using an exclusive pattern in a new color for Little Yellow Couch.  In an effort to re-awaken a habit from a more civilized time, we borrowed from an era when you were not finished dressing until your head was adorned as well as the rest of your body.  Men and women both wore hats as a matter of course and women, as in most of fashion, had a larger range of options when looking for a headpiece.  While regularly wearing a decorative hat might be a little much for modern life, we feel that simply adding this casual flower to your hair does the trick.  This headband, especially when most everything but the flower is hidden under your hair, will become an everyday accessory and soon, you won’t feel dressed without it.
