Our 3 Favorite Sources for Wallpaper

We had the pleasure of interviewing Melanie Blodgett of You Are My Fave for our Style Matters Podcast last year.

We were talking about making style and design decisions based solely on what makes you insanely happy, which led her to talking about her entryway.  She said she gets a lot of "Wows" when people first walk in.  And it's the kind where you don't know if it's a good "wow" or a bad "wow".  But the best part is that she doesn't care!  She says she'd rather have an entryway that elicits some kind of response rather than none at all.

We love the resurgence of interest in wallpaper these days.  So, taking a cue from Melanie, we've been inspired to share our 3  favorite companies that are doing a great job of mixing modern and vintage design sensibilities.

HYGEE & WEST

We can't get enough of this company!  Not only do we love what they stand for (Hygee means "cozy" or "cultivating a meaningful life in the moment" in Danish), they partner with some of our very favorite designers on the planet.  (Since we also follow them in other arenas, we've linked to each of them in the photos below).  Here's a great video showing the process of printing their wallpapers, which only makes you cherish them even more once you get them up on your walls.  If you want high quality, handcrafted papers with fantastic design, Hygee & West should be your first stop.

LIVETTES

With so much stuff on Etsy these days, it can be hard to find what you're looking for.  Luckily, we stumbled upon this small shop created by art student from Riga, Latvia.  Livettes  wallpaper is very affordable because it's made of vinyl and is "peel & stick."  While we adore the handcrafted, high quality papers we're featuring from other companies, we also appreciate what a lower price point means in terms of feeling free to create smaller projects on a whim. We look forward to seeing what Liv grows into once she's graduated!

ANEWALL

Unlike traditional wallpaper companies, Anewall focuses on murals, both from their own designs and ones you can customize from personal photos.  They offer self-adhesive as well as paste & glue options and can come in any size you wish!  For those who really want to see their vision materialize, working with Anewall will get you there!

More "Wall Treatments" on Pinterest

It was really hard choosing just a few examples from each of these companies....they all have a lot of stock that is drool-worthy.  So imagine how hard it was to choose only 3 to highlight for this post!  If you want more inspiration (or a simply eye-candy fix), be sure to check out our Pinterest board, "Wall Treatments."  This is where we're always sharing new ideas for wallpaper, paint and display.  It's one of our favorite boards!
